Craig Personal Cd Player Review

Craig Personal Cd Player
Average Reviews:

The Craig personal CD player is a good buy.The sound quality is very good. With anti-skip technology, it can play CDs with which my car stereo has trouble. It's lightweight and the headphones are adequate.(Since this was a replacement for a Sony player, I decided to stick with my old headphones.)The manual indicates how you can buy an adapter to play through a stereo, do random play, or repeat a favorite track. It's lightweight, easy to stick in a travelling bag.The wall adapter to draw power from a plug that I used with my previous player fits into the port, but I haven't been able to get the player to work off AC current. With batteries, it works well.Particularly with the value for the money, this is a good buy.

COBY MP-C341 Portable MP3 Boom Box w/256 MB Flash Memory & SD Card Slot Review

COBY MP-C341 Portable MP3 Boom Box w/256 MB Flash Memory & SD Card Slot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Coby MP-C341 boom box is the real deal. For the price, you really can't go wrong with this product.I can't think of a better companion to hit the beaches with this summer.

It is not only a boombox but also an alarm clock, an FM radio, external speakers for your iPod, and a direct-to-mp3 recording device.Try getting that from other manufacturers.Let alone for the price of $100 or less.

On the outside, it looks like a white gigantic capsule.Something a giant would swallow when he has a headache.Four speakers are embedded in front for pumping out your favorite tunes. There is a 4-line orange-yellow display right in the front center; just adequate enough to display its current mode. The slots and connectors are at the back for additional SD card, USB cable, AUX in and earphones. You don't even need to buy the cables, they come with unit. The only thing you need to shell out your money for is an extra SD card.

The boombox supports two digital audio formats:WMA and MP3 up to 256 Kpbs.As expected, it does not support DRM, so you can't play any of encrypted WMA song files. The sound quality is what you'd expect out of a low-to-mid end speaker. But still, pretty good. The 256MB internal memory is hardly enough storage. So I suggest buying an additional SD card for this little baby.

What if you already have loads of your music on your iPod already?Well, no fear.Use this boombox as your external speakers.Just connect the provided audio cable from your iPod to the AUX-in jack and you're rockin'.

OK, I saved the best for last.If you're still not impressed with this device, at least get it for its direct-to-mp3 capability.Still have a 45's collection?Convert those into mp3 using this device.Connect the boombox to the audio source and hit the "Record" button.it cannot be simpler than that.In addition, you can also record off the built-in radio or internal microphone.

Why am I not giving it 5 stars?Well, two minor things:the build quality and that 4-line display (hardly enough to get any detailed information).

Want more information? You can contact me at [...] and I'll be happy to share my experience on this device with you.

I bought this player about a month ago after a power surge ruined my old Sony, which was much better. The sound is good for the price and for my purposes.I use it regularly, but try not to be hard on it. One of the important features for me was the cassette player, which stopped working after only two or three weeks. Now the cover for the CD player no longer opens when the button is pushed.I have to use my fingernails to lift it in order to remove the disk. The radio dial is out of whack more than most so that it takes guesswork whenever changing stations.I would not buy this model again.

Delphi Premium Sound System for SkyFi3, Roady XT, MyFi, and Audiovox Xpress
Average Reviews:

I purchased this unit over the Thanksgiving weekend and really like it.It has a very nice, clean sound and is very easy to operate using the SkyFi3 since all functions work through the SkyFi3's remote. My only minor complaint is that when you dock the receiver the volume comes on at a predetermined level, but it's not a big deal. The system looks very nice and has a great sound -- I would highly recommend it.With respect to a previous review, if you want BIG sound for a party or to resonate throughout your house, you'd probably just want the home kit for your receiver and feed it though your home stereo. But for a nice roomfull (or even a couple of roomfulls) of sound, this does a great job.

Was told did not have the sansa clip accessories. The picture clearly shows the sansa clip adapter. and I was sent the Sansa Series assessories instead. I man I spoke with at United Integral then emails me and asks if I can send him a copy of my order no. as he cannot find it. I returned the item on 4/17/10 to date 5/9/10 I have not received my credit on my amazon gift certificate that I used to purchase the merchandise with.

I have contacted United Integral Inc. by phone and still have not rec. my credit. as a result of this I will probably not use Amazon again.

Black & Decker PSS100B Power Station 100 Watt Portable Power Supply Inverter with Digital Radio Review

Black & Decker PSS100B Power Station 100 Watt Portable Power Supply Inverter with Digital Radio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
with this boombox-style unit, you could go to the beach or the woods, listen to your playlists on an mp3, plug in a george foreman grill and cook up some burgers or brats while you recharge your cel phone -- all at the same time. that's kinda cool. this is a tricked-out unit. it's not the loudest boombox you'll ever hear, but it does pump out decent sound when fully charged.

pros:
-lots of functions: mp3 cradle, usb port, flashlights, ac outlets, am/fm radio
-portable size with comfortable padded carrying handle
-uses rechargeable internal batteries; cord stores in rear
-ac power station features green/red status lcds
-rubberized grip handle
-nice price
-wont eat tapes or scratch cds
-accurate digital tuner

cons:
-some quirks: usb can cause feedback if switched on when radio or mp3 are also on. it's a good idea to test functions and cross-compatibility before using it the first time.
-100w refers to AC power, not internal amp for speakers
-only line in outlet is mp3 headphone jack
jack of all trades/master of none.

overall, good deal for the price i paid, which was a lot under msrp. not sure if it'd be worth original price. but a good item to have if you like the outdoors.

If you are looking for an MP3 player for yourself or your child, FIND ANOTHER PRODUCT!!Our daughter received this one for Christmas and I have been working ever since trying to get it running for her!The instructions are not much help as they say you can download music with Windows Media Player 10 or 11.So, I upgraded to M.P. 10 and it would not work.I e-mailed customer service and they were no help.I called customer service and they said, "Take it back to the store."Well since the store is 90 minutes away, I decided to try downloading M.P. 11.That almost worked, but I discovered that it appears my computer is just too old.So, we hooked it up to my wife's new computer and she, after quite a bit of work and several failures, did get music on the MP3 player. Now it won't play!!!The battery is charged, the volume is up and NOTHING!So, now I have to drive 90 minutes back to the store to return this and find my daughter another, BETTER, MP3 player!!Meanwhile, I have to keep explaining to a 7 year old why she can't listen to her music!!DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!

Folds up nicely for packing in a carry-on.Plays any device with an iPod-style earphone jack.Sounds good on the desk (it actually sounds better than the price might indicate).Does not charge any iPod, so the device drains power while playing.Great for travel and temporary use, poor for bedroom or work.

Note:the photo does not show you that the power and audio cables stick out the top of the unit, making it appear very messy while in use.Even while operating on batteries, the audio cable still sticks out the top, because that's where the port is on the iPod.

Sirius XM Wireless FM Transmitter Modulator and Power Supply Review

Sirius XM Wireless FM Transmitter Modulator and Power Supply
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This FM transmitter worked exactly as described in the ADs.I've seen other FM transmitters that said they worked great, but, the reviews told a different story.I hooked this up to my XM Express in my 2000 Accord, which has no cassette player.I didn't want to get inside the dash to hook up a cable.I turned everything on, found an open FM channel and heard crystal clear music. No noise, no dropping out, no hassle.

I do suggest setting up all three channels in case you drive into an area where a station overrides your transmitter.I drive 35 miles each way to work and have not had to change the channel yet.Of course, I don't live in a metropolitan area either.

It will also connect to your iPod or other MP music player.Although the sound isn't quite as clear because it's using the headphone jack for a signal. There is a model designed specifically for MP3 players.

I bought this on Amazon for $39 and is well worth the money.

I opted for the Boombox and a couple of the Pro car kits (wireless FM) and I couldn't be happier. So far, the only time I've dropped signals is when going under overpasses (sometimes) and through tunnels. The boombox sounds great!

One word of caution, though. The backing plate forthe windshield suction mount deformed from the heat from the sun.A few seconds in boiling water and its good as new!

I'll be ordering a home kit and a few extra antennas so that I can hook up the kit in our Airstream.

JVC RCEZ38 Boombox Review

JVC RCEZ38 Boombox
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just received my unit a few days ago, and it is a good value for all of the features. As others have said, the bottom end is weak for a unit its size, but there also a bug in the USB directory system that makes it very difficult to use with USB sticks. The bug is that it doesn't read the directory tree properly, and when you work through the menu to a track, it ends up playing a completely different track.

This is with a 4GB stick formatted FAT32; I don't know how it works with FAT or NTFS. The manual was also underwhelming, and really didn't talk about this in much detail. All of the tracks are available, and play properly, it's just very difficult to locate them.

It also doesn't recognize a 1GB stick that I have that works fine with the computer and the USB car radio that I have, so not all sticks will work with this. I have no idea why that particular stick is a problem.

Update - I discovered by trial and error that despite what it says in the manual, you can't mix tracks and subfolders in a folder, if you want the directory system to work correctly. After rearranging the folders so that there are all tracks or all subfolders in a folder, it works properly.

It is a multisystem tuner: PAL=European standard of broadcasting an an analog signal and NTSC=USA standard for broadcasting an analog signal, which is to be replaced in Feb 2009 by digital (ATSC) signals. Read the specifications closely! While it's titled as having ATSC, it is not! Additionally, Supersonic makes a portable 7", model SC-299 also advertised as ATSC, guess what? iPax Portable Speaker System for iPod shuffle - 5087 Review

iPax Portable Speaker System for iPod shuffle - 5087
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It did take a bit of time to figure out how to use it although it appeared to be quite simple at first. The instructions say that the iPod Shuffle need not be turned on if the speakers are plugged in but after struggling with it for a while I realized that the Shuffle had to be turned on or otherwise there will be no sound coming out from the speakers.

But after you figure out how to work it, it is actually a very good product. There are several speakers for Shuffle out there but the prices are often higher than the price of the Shuffle or for the cheaper versions, they don't sound very good at all. This one, however, is excellent. The size makes it truly portable. The sound is great. I think it is plenty loud for speakers this size, and the quality is very good. If you are not looking for Bose quality (then again, why would you for the price you pay for this one), then this is truly excellent. I was very apprehensive at first, but I am convinced. This is worth your money and you will enjoy it very much.

One drawback is that, since it has a place for everything (storing the shuffle itself and the ear piece), there is no place to store the electric cord and plug. I will mention that it does take batteries if you are travelling in the car or so. It would be nice though if for later version they can include an adapter for the car as well.

Kaito Electronics Inc. KA001 Portable Hand-Crank AM, FM, NOAA Radio Review

Kaito Electronics Inc. KA001 Portable Hand-Crank AM, FM, NOAA Radio
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Excellent.
Battery or no battery, you have light and radio. If you have some AAs to stoke it with you won't have to crank it.If you already have or buy separate a 6V AC wall charger and plug it in, you can charge the internal battery for a few hours of use.I think this is a great radio for the price to put away in your emergency kit. When the power goes out you will have some news, weather, or music and some light even if your batteries are missing or dead.

The Good.
This is a very reasonably priced radio for the features that it has.The crank charges an internal battery, so it will work even if you don't have AAs handy to load it up with. The light is brighter than I expected, it will light a bedroom or kitchen enough to navigate in the glow. When held and directed toward reading material it is plenty bright enough to read a book from.A minute of cranking will give lots of minutes of light and even more of radio.you can run the radio and the light at the same time. You can charge it with a 6V wall wart, I did that overnight and got about 2 hours of light and about another 30 minutes of radio. The hand crank is easy to turn and you don't have to turn it too hard or fast to get the charge light to light up bright. It will run off of AA "dry cells". I haven't tested the run times on this but I expect based on the comparative sizes of the internal battery you should get A couple dozen hours of radio and perhaps the same of light from 2 AA.I was able to tune some powerful AM stations at night that are about 500 miles away.FM from 50 miles away in the daytime is just fine.Ear phones work in both ears and the FM appears to be Stereo and the sound isn't too bad for music or voice on earphones, much more fidelity than the speaker very nice for the price.I can't receive the weather band stations where I live, on this radio nor on any of my others, so I can't test this.I do get static and it seems to work the same on WX as my other WX radios.

The Bad.
This is a cheap radio. It isn't of great build quality. The plastic is kind of old school cheap feeling. The sound is a bit thin from the speaker, The tuning knob is the small middle knob and you will pass over stations back and forth to find what you want. When you run on "dry cells" as they call it AA batteries, the LED light is not as bright as the internal battery, perhaps a 30% reduction in light output.Still useful light.

The Ugly.
The knobs are funky and stick out at various angles like they are bent, they work OK, but don't feel very positive in the band selection especially on AM.Sometimes the tuning seems to skip out and you get no signal when turning the tuning knob, a quick wiggle of the tuning knob seems to restore the reception.

Summary.
I'm buying a few more for emergency kits.I think you would be glad to have this after an earthquake or storm takes out power and your batteries are used up, you will still have light and radio with a minute of turning the crank.I give this 3.5 stars, I would go 4 stars if the knobs weren't so funky. You can't buy anything else with these features for this price. For something infrequently used this should be good enough. Stick it in your emergency kit and throw in some Energizer E2 Lithium batteries with a 10+ year shelf life (leave them out of the radio to avoid accidental discharge) and you can ignore this radio for years and it should be there for you when you need it.

I loaded two AA rechargeable NiMh batteries, they are about 2700mah but a few years old.I turned on the radio and the light for 24 hours. At the end of 24 hours the light was dim but usable.I then left the radio on for a full week (7 days X 24 hrs/day or 168 hours total) FM some AM stations generally loud enough to hear anywhere in a room. After a week it is still running and I think it could go several more days. The light is very dim after a week.To get a bright light all you do is switch from "dry cell" AA batteries to the dynamo internal battery after winding and the light is extremely bright for reading or other uses. My dog jumped on the antenna and bent it, real world stuff, still works great. So while inexpensive it has amazingly long lasting battery life which is important for an emergency use radio.

Sirius S50-EX1 S50 Executive System Review

Sirius S50-EX1 S50 Executive System
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Having owned my S50 portable unit since December 2005, I have waited a long time until the S50 Executive Systems arrived at my local electronics store. They had just put them out on display and I was the first to buy one yesterday - not that I've been hanging out at the electronics store waiting this entire time.

I was so starved for the unit, I bought one without hesitation.I didn't even look at the $218.89 price sticker, or give price a second thought.

Today, I got the unit setup at the office and it looks great - very executive. The design and look is as elegant as the portable unit, but that is where the buck stops.

The sound is uninspiring and I was surprised to discover that there is no tone control for the device. You are stuck with the flat output of the speakers.

The volume dial is unresponsive and frustrating. You have to dial it a full rotation to get the sound to go up or down.To turn the volume up to an enjoyable level, I have to rotate the dial 3-4 full turns to the right. When someone comes into my office, or the phone rings, I have to turn the dial back the same amount. It is the only volume dial that I've experienced that requires you to do so much work to hear your music.

I had some difficulty getting a good signal from the Satellite, but it wasn't bad and it works great now.

If I wasn't such a big fan of Sirius Satellite radio, I would have purchased a different unit months ago.

I'm happy that the unit is finally available, but I expected much more.

Sanyo CRSR-10 Sirius Satellite Receiver with Car and Home Kit Review

Sanyo CRSR-10 Sirius Satellite Receiver with Car and Home Kit
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I ordered this Sanyo CRSR-10 from sirius.com.Definitely a good deal for the price and when I bought, there was a $50 rebate.Does basically all that I would want it to do (grant me Howard Stern). The buttons could be a bit more responsive and it doesnt feel all that well made (plastic), but all in all good bang for buck.

My problem was with Sanyo and Sirius. My kit was missing an important part--the button plate.I called Sirius and was told to send everything back (sigh).I called Sanyo to see if I could obtain the part and was even willing to pay for it.They apparently dont distribute parts for their own equipment, so I was directed to Tritronics, Inc, who told me I could buy the part for $28 (!!!).When I spoke again with Sanyo, they blamed Sirius for repacking the Sanyo radios, causing the loss of parts.Bottom line=unhappy customer not real happy with Sanyo or Sirius, and neither company really wanting to help all that much.Thanks.So basically I made my own replacement for the part, channelling the spirits of MacGyver and Bob Villa.BTW, God help you if you need to call Sirius--the folks working there are just not that bright, save for the very last person I spoke with (#4)

Product Description:
Enjoy up to 120 Sirius satellite radio channels (65 of them commercial-free) in the car or at home with the Sanyo CRSR-10 plug-and-play tuner. The package, which includes such items as a suction-cup car mount, a car antenna, a home stand, a home antenna, and much more, gives you everything you need to set up your Sirius system right out of the box. It all starts with the tuner, naturally, and its variety of valuable functions. The CRSR-10 offers four search methods: by category (pop, rock, country, hip-hop, R&B/urban, dance/electronic, jazz/standards, classical, Latin and world, news, traffic and weather, sports, and talk and entertainment), channel, artist name, or song title. Once you've selected a channel, the tuner's blue backlit readout displays up to six lines of information, including the three-digit channel number and name, the artist name, the song title, the category name, the satellite signal strength monitor, and more.
On those occasions when you want to hear a specific tune, you can turn to the "song seek" memory, which stores up to 10 song and artist names and tells you when a saved song is playing on a given station. And old-fashioned channel surfers will delight in the three-digit direct tuning pad and the 20 station presets (in two banks), which make it a breeze to quickly access your favorite channels.
The CRSR-10 even adds a bit of style to your car or living room with its three interchangeable faceplate rings in chrome, metallic blue, and glossy black. The rings let you match the tuner to its surroundings while also varying the display color.
The tuner offers a couple of interface options with your audio equipment. The built-in FM transmitter broadcasts the satellite signal to any unused FM frequency--from 88.1 to 107.9 MHz--so you can listen without connecting cumbersome cables to your stereo receiver. This option is particularly convenient for car stereos that don't have auxiliary inputs. To output the best possible sound quality, however, the tuner offers a 3.5 mm auxiliary output and a patch cord that connects directly to compatible car and home receivers. Other terminals include a power input that accepts a plug from either a home AC adapter or vehicle cigarette lighter adapter (both included) and a jack for the included home and mobile antennas.
Additional features include a password option that restricts channel access (ideal for families); a built-in clock with alarm and sleep timer functions; and a program alert that automatically switches to a select channel at a specific time. The CRSR-10 receiver measures 4 by 4 by 1.81 inches (W x H x D) while the home base measures 4 by 4.8 by 3.73 inches. The car mount, meanwhile, checks in at 3.41 inches in diameter. The entire bundle comes with a one-year warranty.
Note: You must subscribe to Sirius satellite radio to receive the satellite radio signal.
