It never jams on a good tape. It's perfect at what it does.

Being an audiobook lover I use it to listen to my books around the house and it has had a lot of use!
Unlike units that have CD players, the tape is the focus, not an afterthought.
Also, it's far superior to tape units that switch sides for you, because they often switch sides at the least resistance, not necessarily the end of the tape.
In summation, this is the tape audiobook listener's friend for reliable, no trouble, listening for hours and hours and years to come..

This Sony TCM-929 Desktop Cassette Recorder is a modern, detailed and feature-rich cassette recorder for the home or office. (More customer reviews)Bought this primarily for non-Ipod mp3 use. Hard to believe this really retails for $129.00. All plastic. Sound is ok, no bass adjustments. At first it did sound tinny, but got better the longer it was on. Pretty color!! Overall is ok, glad I didnt pay full price, I would have beed extemely disappointed.

I am delighted with the quality of sound and the ease of use.
The Cd payer functions perfectly and I can find the tracts fairly easily. No portable CD player I have ever seen gives the specific individual tracts but it does show the main one and the pause /play is very easy to work.
The recorder is also excellent for both playing and recording.
All this comes in a bright cheerful faux lacquer finish.
I would highly recommend and it was shipped carefully and arrived rapidly : something I needed as I was starting a new corporate coaching assignment.
All in all a terrific purchase.
