I wanted to avoid buying music from Proprietary people, so I got this.I got in over 300 songs.Package claimed 1000 songs, which if you have 1000 1.9MB songs, yes you might get them in.I could not.I like the equalizer settings, but can tell you I like the headphones I already own for bass response over the earbuds included. The Win32 memory may make it where you can't record the tracks in the order you wanted. If I had to add a downside, there is no clip, or holder, or case.It is very light.OVERALL, for me and my friends, I have bought 5 so far!

(More customer reviews)I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my tin-eared octogenarian father to listen to his Lawrence Welk (yecch) CDs. I boxed it up less than 5 minutes after it arrived, so it can be returned.

The sound is so screechy it hurts your ears right down to your toes. Absolutely no bass response. Can't think of one music genre that would sound even mediocre on this system.

It looks cool, can fit on a shelf or be hung on the wall, and it has a smoked plastic door over the CD that rises via a motor, so I generously gave it two stars. However, the things that look like speakers on the outside of the grilles are fake, just inert hunks of plastic made to look like tweeters. Shame on GPX.

Please don't waste your money. Buy a system that you can listen to and inspect in a B&M store.

I ended up buying an iSymphony micro-system from Radio Shack for a similar price, but it has a remote control, bass boost, and a surprisingly rich sound for the price. Dear old Dad was happy beyond belief at how great his "music" sounded on it--he stares at the unit while the music plays the way folks watched their radios in the forties...spooky, but he smiles all the while. That made my Christmas merry!

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice cd player for the price (I paid $24.99 from Amazon). I got it for my husband so he could listen to his CDs while he was working in the garage or outside or while he was doing his exercises. It works very well, the sound is rich and full for a little, inexpensive player and doesn't sound tinny at all. It is easy to use and is not big and bulky - very portable. Since it was so inexpensive, it doesn't even matter if he manages to scratch it up or drop a tool on it or something.

Also, it is a nice shape - not like those strangely shaped round cd players that look like bug's heads and the speakers look like bug's eyes!

As an added benefit, it has a port to plug in your MP3 player so you can listen to music or audio books you have on your MP3 player as well.

Also, it comes with a remote control which I didn't see mentioned in the description at Amazon. All in all, a nice cd player at a very nice price! It was so nice, I ordered one for myself as well!

(More customer reviews)The sound quality is complete crap. There is absolutely NO bass and when you try to turn up the volume the speakers crackle and cut out. I was excited about this radio because it is mp3 ready and came with the jack to connect my mp3 player. When I connected my mp3 player I was shocked to discover that the sound quality could get even worse than it already was. I actually like the design and I guess since I will be using it in my office at low volume it will serve its purpose, but I still wish I wouldnt have wasted what little money this costs.
