(More customer reviews)I've read a lot of reviews online for this product, and the biggest hangup seems to be with the ipod related features, overall looks, button sensitivity and so on.Very few actually focus on the sound quality, which for me is by far the most important factor in choosing a sound system.I've owned the IM600 and Logitec Pure-fi Anywhere speakers, and this system is light years ahead of those, and any other similiarly priced portable ipod speakers in overall sound quality.This system in on par with the Bose SoundDock II portable system and is quite a bit cheaper.The only drawback to the sound is that it isn't going to blow you out of the water with incredibly deep bass.That being said, I don't think there is a portable system out there yet capable of producing significant bass due to their smaller size.Bottomline, if sound is your driving factor in choosing a rechargeable ipod speaker system and you don't want to pay $350 for the Bose SoundDock portable, the InMotion Max should be your #1 choice.

Sony Boombox with CD Player, AM/FM Radio, and iPod Dock (White) Review

(More customer reviews)This is a neat boombox.I use it when I am cooking or just relaxing.I have only used it indoors (where it sounds great), but I think it is good (though not the best) for outdoors as well.

I had modest expectations when I purchased this and it has worked very well for me.I use an ipod touch in the docking station at it works great.There is no way to navigate ipod menu's (such as artist, songs, and playlist) on the boombox itself, but I use the touch interface on my ipod and it works fine.Of course, the play, pause, and forward/backward skip buttons on the boombox can be used with the ipod (for example, after you choose your favorite artist, playlist,etc on your ipod unit then you can hit play on the boombox and the song will play).

The cd player works great even with heavily used or slightly scratched cds and also plays cdr or cdrw burnt cds. The radio gets great reception.Although you won't be able to throw a window shattering party with this one, I think it is a good buy for most people.

(More customer reviews)Almost did not buy this little gem after reading the rather luke-warm reviews about the sound quality and other nit-picking items.Found this on clearance at a local box store and for the price took a flyer that it would serve for picnics and other outdoor music uses.This little box is GREAT for the use I wanted it for!It is NOT a replacement for my two home theater systems sound systems.It DOES NOT have a permanent hearing loss creating bass presence.But, it DOES run anywhere off of "C" cell batteries.It DOES play almost any variety of CD media.It DOES have a decent FM and AM tuning engine, and even more interesting...although it is not indicated anywhere on the box or in the advertising....the thing allows for my new 160 Gig iPod Classic to be plugged right into the front of it (even nicer with the little docking adapter that comes with the iPod) and the Sony remote actually operates the Generation 6.5 iPod perfectly!Operates all the iPod wheel functions, skips songs, THE WORKS!If there has to be a negative, the plastic carrying handle seems a little lightweight, but time will tell how it stands up to use.Nice product!!
