(More customer reviews)I was looking for a portable cd player for my 3.5 y.o. daughter to listen to books on cd on a plane trip.This was the closest thing I could find, that seemed oriented toward the right age group.The headphones, however, were much too big for her, so they fell down and bugged her, or hung low so she couldn't hear very well.Additionally, the buttons were very small and unclearly marked, so even I had trouble figuring out which button did what.She used it a few times, butthen one day it just didn't work, even after replacing the batteries.I have no idea what is wrong with it.This caused us to put her cd in the regular stereo and she seems to prefer this anyway.This wasn't an expensive cd player, but it wasn't really worth the money, at least for this age of child.

Fisher Price Kid Tough FP3 Song & Story Player - Pink Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my 5 year-old for her birthday.She absolutely loves it and mastered the operation within minutes.Downloading stories from the website was a little tricky, but in the end was worth the time ($1.99 for most stories).Copying songs from CDs was the best feature.You can pick and delete the songs you want.You can even assign a picture to each song or to a collection of songs.For example, for High School Musical, I assigned a school bus; for the Aquamarine soundtrack, a starfish; Princess and the Pauper, a princess.Anyway, you get the idea.She also really likes the story reading function.I look forward to trying out the speaker/boom box accessory.The headphones seemed bulky to me, but my 5 year old loves how they fit and they don't slide off of her head!

I gave it 5 stars even though we had to return the first one.The play/pause button didn't work consistently, even right out of the box.It is marketed as a "kid tough" design, but we may have just had a bad player, as the replacement one seems to work fine, even after dropping it a few times.I also recommend the blue case; the pink one is very pale pink and all of the ones in store were already scuffed up and dirty.

(More customer reviews)The Coby MP-C341 boom box is the real deal.For the price, you really can't go wrong with this product.I can't think of a better companion to hit the beaches with this summer.

It is not only a boombox but also an alarm clock, an FM radio, external speakers for your iPod, and a direct-to-mp3 recording device.Try getting that from other manufacturers.Let alone for the price of $100 or less.

On the outside, it looks like a white gigantic capsule.Something a giant would swallow when he has a headache.Four speakers are embedded in front for pumping out your favorite tunes.There is a 4-line orange-yellow display right in the front center; just adequate enough to display its current mode.The slots and connectors are at the back for additional SD card, USB cable, AUX in and earphones. You don't even need to buy the cables, they come with unit.The only thing you need to shell out your money for is an extra SD card.

The boombox supports two digital audio formats:WMA and MP3 up to 256 Kpbs.As expected, it does not support DRM, so you can't play any of encrypted WMA song files.The sound quality is what you'd expect out of a low-to-mid end speaker.But still, pretty good.The 256MB internal memory is hardly enough storage.So I suggest buying an additional SD card for this little baby.

What if you already have loads of your music on your iPod already?Well, no fear.Use this boombox as your external speakers.Just connect the provided audio cable from your iPod to the AUX-in jack and you're rockin'.

OK, I saved the best for last.If you're still not impressed with this device, at least get it for its direct-to-mp3 capability.Still have a 45's collection?Convert those into mp3 using this device.Connect the boombox to the audio source and hit the "Record" button.it cannot be simpler than that.In addition, you can also record off the built-in radio or internal microphone.

Why am I not giving it 5 stars?Well, two minor things:the build quality and that 4-line display (hardly enough to get any detailed information).

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my daughter so she could sing to her favorite Hanna Montana songs that we have downloaded. It is cute, the microphones allow the user to sing along and the voice that comes over the cd sounds good. The overall sound isn't great but for a 6-year old, this is not a huge issue. BIG PROBLEM: It won't play cds that have been burned by my computer! It SAYS in the description that it will play CD-Rs and CD-RW discs but in the owners manual it actually has a disclaimer that it won't play some discs "depending on the software used to burn the audio cd." It claims this is not a problem with the unit. Well, it is a problem. I have tried burning cds at different speeds and even went out and purchased special audio cds. I have cds that I have burned that work in the stereo, the car, other cd players. Not this one! For the price, it better play every CD I have. I'm either going to have to purchase audio cds from the store (duplicating songs I have already downloaded) or, take the stinking thing back. Merry Christmas.

Everytime a CD is put in, we have to thump the machine to make the cd play. Very, very disappointed. (More customer reviews)We were excited to find this Hello Kitty boom box for our three year old.She loves books on tape and CD from the library.The player was very easy for her to use and had great sound quality.The first one we had lasted only days before the buttons wouldn't work.We exchanged it and the second one is now having the same problems after only a year of use.I feel it was not abused as she only was allowed to use it while we were supervising so that the library materials were not damaged.It just seems to be a poorly made radio.We are disappointed and searching for a better option.

(More customer reviews)I bought this from Target for $15.99 for my boys and they love it. The little figurines don't orignally come off the top, so we had to unscrew them, and pop them off. My boys really enjoy playing with this. So don't waste the money here, you can buy this from Toys R Us for $17.99. For that price it's a fun toy. It is a bit "cheap" feeling, but for that price, what do you expect.

(More customer reviews)As the other reviewers mentioned, this boom box is tiny, which is why my daughter liked it but at $40 it was well overpriced.The CDs and tapes are fake - if they worked, maybe the price could be justified.
Worst of all however, it BROKE after 2 days of use - it just stopped working all together - and it was not roughly handled (and yes we tried the batteries).I would definitely NOT recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)At this price point, I do not feel that you can expect superior sound.I do think that this unit has good sound that is average to this price point or slightly better.My daughter loved the color.It is fairly small and will fit great on her night stand.It is also great for travel due to its size (we are used to hauling around a much larger one).

I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again for a child.At this price, even if it breaks in a year, she will have gotten good use out of it.(one of the reasons we don't buy more expensive things for her is that she is a little hard on them).

There is a circular thing that is right behind where the ipod sits and it can be pulled out or pushed in depending on if you have a larger or smaller ipod.This is great compared to other units we have, because my daughter has a nano and it prevents it from being pushed back and potentially bending the connector prongs.It certainly adds to the stability of the ipod.

UPDATE:runs on ac power or batteries.

The cd player made a whispering noise, skipped songs and wouldn't repeat a song once you hit the repeat button. Super cute, but absolutely worthless if you want it to play cds. It was returned for a refund.
