(More customer reviews)I was so excited to receive my iMode from my wife for Christmas 2008. All the main features seemed to work -- AM/FM Radio, iPod, Alarm Clock x 2 -- except the remote control. It comes with a battery. Since it didn't worked, I assumed it was drained and I replaced it with a new battery. It still didn't work. This was disappointing, because this was not a simple on/off remote. This remote allowed the user to complete EVERY function that can be done on the console of the iMode itself. This is a rare completely inclusive remote for the price.

I called the maker of iMode for a replacement remote since the product is under warranty. I was told to exchange it at the store for a new one (makes sense). I asked what to do if the store didn't have it, and Curtis told me to call them back for a remote. The store was indeed sold out of them, and was not planning on restocking after the holiday (holiday promotion). I called iMode maker back as requested. They told me that I must return it to the store, that the store must call iMode maker to explain that they sold a product with faulty remote, Curtis would then send the new remote to the store where I could pick it up. After all this above action taken, iMode maker told the store that the customer must request the remote under the warranty. I'm done...I left the iMode at the store and requested a full refund. I'm sad to write this review, since the product is potentially great (especially for the bang for the buck), but the low quality of the product and the low quality of the customer service and return policy/protocol, left me with the feeling of iMust Return My iMode.

Atlantis Multi-Media System & Video Output for iPod - SF-1001 Review

(More customer reviews)I have tried the Altec Lansing iM600 firewire charging AND usb docking station, only to find out that my ipod touch 2nd generation does not work properly in it.I was very bummed out, as I had already had to return 2 other ipod docking stations!I found out that the iPod touch 2nd gen. is pretty much too new of a product for most of the current docking stations out there.Very few will actually charge the iPod touch 2 gen, and neither will this model.BUT,this was not my reason for purchasing the Atlantis.The Altec Lansing sounded pretty great, but was much more money and did not work for my iPod.I bought this at Sam's club for $29,so I don't know why it is listed on here for $169......but WOW it is a great deal for the price. The remote control is great, it has pretty powerful sound for a small boombox.It does not have a rechargeable battery in it, but I will rarely take it with me anywhere.Here are the pros and cons:
PROS
1. GREAT VALUE!!
2. GREAT SOUND,NO CRACKLING, FOR A SMALL SPEAKER IT PUTS OUT SOME GOOD SOUND.
3.SOUND FILLS MY KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM.
4. REMOTE CONTROL IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND CONTROLS THE IPOD SONGS TOO
5. CAN PLUG IN USB OR SD CARD INTO PORT AND WILL PLAY MP3'S AS WELL
6. ALARM WILL TURN ON WITH IPOD AND SOUND STARTS GRADUALLY WHEN ALARM GOES OFF, SO YOU ARE NOT JOLTED OUT OF BED WITH A LOUD SOUND SUDDENLY
7. VOLUME WILL DEFINITELY GO REALLY LOW TO SILENT IF YOU WANT SO THAT YOU CAN FALL ASLEEP---ALSO HAS SLEEP MODE IF YOU LIKE TO FALL ASLEEP TO MUSIC SOFTLY

CONS
1. TAKES BATTERIES IF NOT PLUGGED IN.DOES NOT HAVE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK
2. MAY NOT SOUND AS GOOD AS A BOSE OR HIGHER END MODEL, BUT DEFINITELY SOUNDS BETTER THAN THE IHOME CLOCK MODELS, AND AS GOOD AS MOST $150 MODELS.
3. IF YOU LIKE TO BLAST YOUR MUSIC, THIS MAY NOT HAVE THE GREAT SPEAKER QUALITY TO DO SO WITHOUT BLOWING THE SPEAKERS, BUT IF YOU LIKE TO LISTEN TO LOUD OR MODERATELY LOUD MUSIC THE SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT.
4. WILL NOT CHARGE IPOD TOUCH 2ND GEN ON THIS MODEL

I COULD PROBABLY LIST MANY MORE PROS!!!BEST $29 I SPENT

(More customer reviews)The quality of the audio is considerably below higher end iPod Docks, but it's passable for a dorm room kind of setting.The sound is very compressed and does a decent job in the vocal frequencies and not a heck of a whole lot else.That said, the sound is better than you get with your typical Sony/iHome alarm clock iPod docks and it isn't a whole lot bigger.It also can be louder than those docks.

The ability to load in a SD card or Flash card for music is a nice feature that makes this audio system quite versatile.The remote is easy to use and fairly intuitive.Yes, you can rotate your iPod and watch TV shows and movies, but honestly, who wants to watch TV on such a tiny screen unless you're on a plane (in which case, you'd be using earphones).

The build on this unit is not particularly impressive and I'm guessing that it won't last more than three years.Then again, I won't have my iPod touch at that time either and will have moved onto something new.

If you can get this thing for less than 100 bucks, it's worth it.More than that, and you probably can do better with another dock.

I purchased 2 for my kids to use as "speakers" in their rooms for their iPod Touch.The good part is that they fit nice and securely in the product.The bad.... STATIC.The radio was mediocre quality, but to be fair, it is an am/fm radio, not a stereo.I could have lived with everything except the static on the iPod "channel".The only way to reduce the static is to crank the volume.My son tried to listen to it at night, and when the volume is low, it is horrible reception.Even when the iPod is off, and the unit is powered on and set to "iPod" there is static. They are on there way back.I was hopeful that it would work well enough, but alas, static killed the purchase.I would look elsewhere.Both of the units I got created the same static problem...
