PROS:

Decent sound, long antenna cord (20'), compact design, clean aesthetics.

CONS:

Flimsy volume control, antenna can't be attached without removing the battery compartment cover, and VERY ANNOYING high pitched hum that makes you think you're listening to AM radio.Unless you are willing to put up with this and need the portability, you're better off buying a home adpater and running the receiver through your home audio setup.

With the Delphi XM SKYFi Boombox (model SA10001), you can take the XM satelliteradio network with you wherever you roam--from the beach to a party and backhome where you can use it as a bookshelf system. Just insert the Delphi XMSKYFi radio receiver (model SA10000) into the Boombox dock, and you're readyto go. The SKYFi radio receiver inserts neatly into the SKYFi Boombox for satellite radio wherever you want to take it. Note that the SKYFi radio receiver is available separately and requiresa monthly subscription.
The convenient, portable SKYFi Boombox offersgreat sound with dual-cone stereo speakers (also referred to as full-rangespeakers), featuring a great range of lows and highs. The SKYFi Boombox ispowered by a 12-volt AC adapter (included) or six D batteries.
You'll get a clear XM reception with the included high-gain antenna, whichtransmits the radio signal to a highly focused area. The 20-foot cable canbe easily positioned for optimal reception, from sitting on a tabletop tomounting on a wall. It is recommended that the antenna be positioned near asouth-facing window or outdoors with a clear view of the southeastern skyin order to receive the satellite signal. In some cases, it will be possibleto receive XM's signal through standard home walls or a roof. When you're onthe go with the SKYFi Boombox, the antenna attaches conveniently to the backof the Boombox.

What Is XM Satellite Radio?
XM Satellite Radio was the firstsatellite radio service to be offered in the U.S. It features astate-of-the-art broadcast center in Washington, D.C., two Boeing 702satellites (providing 18 kW of power--the most powerful commercialsatellites ever built), and approximately 800 terrestrial repeaters locatedthroughout the continental United States for seamless transmission. Serviceis not available in Hawaii or Alaska.
XM Satellite Radio offers 101channels, including 70 music channels, over 35 of which are commercial-free,and 31 news, sports, talk, and children's channels, broadcast coast to coastin digital quality. Basic service is available for a monthly subscriptionfee of $9.99, with premium channel(s) available at an additional monthlycost. Under the XM Family plan, subscribers get a discounted rate of $6.99per month for additional radios.
XM's programming partners include SesameWorkshop, NASCAR, Associated Press, ABC News, CNBC, CNET, BBC World Serviceand BBC Concerts, Radio One, CNN/Sports Illustrated, HispanicBroadcast Corporation, Disney, and ESPN.
