(More customer reviews)We were looking for a portable stereo with a CD, mp3 and tape player with detachable speakers that can also run on batteries, and found this one.There were no reviews on it yet, so we were a little hesitant to buy it.But we did, and are quite pleased with it.
So many reviews on Unirex products say this button didn't work and that player didn't work, but everything on this stereo worked right from the start, and is still working.It is a nice compact size, maybe as wide as 3 1/2 CD's with the speakers attached.
One really nice feature is the USB port.I loaded 850+ mp3 songs onto a flash drive and plugged it in.It shares controls with the CD player, so I set it on random play.It played music from the flash drive with little or no lag time in between songs in random mode.There is also a remote for controlling CD/USB play.You can't control the volume or turn the unit off/on with it though.
The controls are easy to use, but there is no control for tone, just a Bass Boost button.Its tone is decent (but not great) with the Bass Boost on or off.You can crank the volume up pretty far without distortion too.It can be a little difficult to tune a station in on the radio, although it doesn't seem to drift once tuned in.
